    The formula

Full-time allowance × your working pattern

Use the full-time entitlement for a comparable employee, including bank holidays if that is how your employer states it. The calculator applies the same days-per-week or hours-per-week ratio used for pro rata pay.

Starting or leaving part-way through the leave year? Use the pro rata annual leave calculator to calculate the allowance accrued for that period.

    ▲ Statutory minimum

GOV.UK states that most workers receive 5.6 weeks of paid holiday. Contractual entitlement can be higher, so enter the figure in your contract rather than automatically using 28 days.

    Questions

    Frequently asked

How is pro rata holiday calculated for part-time workers?
    Multiply the comparable full-time holiday allowance by your working-pattern fraction. A 3-day week compared with a 5-day full-time week is 3 ÷ 5, or 60%.
What is the UK statutory holiday entitlement?
Most workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks of paid holiday a year. For someone working 5 days a week, the statutory cap is 28 days.
Do bank holidays count towards the 28 days?
They can. Employers can include bank holidays within statutory annual leave, so use the total full-time allowance stated by your employer.
